Silent Enclosed Rhyme in the Rain

The beauty of a rainy night
Encompassed in a couple quatrains
Inside it`s dry, outside it rains
Beneath the warm moonlight

Each drop that falls to the ground
Ripples in still pools
Respecting gravity’s rules
With an unintelligible sound

Beauty is easily found
In the peaceful environment
That the rain did rent -
Is enveloped all around

On the streets no voice is talking
While the rain does fall
No one appears at all
On the streets no one is walking

A bittersweet solace
Can be seen
Like a dream
With nothing amiss

The world is totally clear
Not one single care
Float in the quiet air
No concerns draw near

While droplets so many fear
The rain brings what poets hold dear

What Is The Point?

Verse is constructed with humble hope:
To be a gift helping others to cope,
In this often harsh landscape;
With death the only true escape;
When personal painful despair
Is beyond all repair and compare...

...Hopes to reveal some beauty unto
All who upon these words view.
(With a momentary digression)
To remember happiness, bliss, and love;
And a combination of all above.
To relieve, though distraction, depression
To alleviate feelings of societal suppression.

So focus in each successive session,
Is movement forward with positive progression.
Achieved, by focusing all poetic expression;
On a singular and unyielding conception...
Sometimes aided by using collusion,
And other times with no illusion.

...Beauty is endless, timeless, and eternally profound;
Within sweet poetry, beauty can always be found.

The Prize

With poetic form enacted,
Thoughts are less distracted.
Coursing through each vein,
Consuming the entire brain;
Is a way to frame,
And hopefully claim…

The Prize

With meter well-constructed,
And diligently self-instructed...
… The prize which is sought
(The prize proper poets’ desire)
That visual artists require...
One that cannot be bought,
Captivated by perfect thought.

The Prize

The poets pray to capture,
Before the personal rapture;
This unseen treasure,
Without equal measure.
This prize has a clever disguise.
Can cause recognition to rise.

The Prize

The immeasurable treasure lies -
Behind each viewer`s eyes.

The Prize

Many artists hope for this, in vain:
To claim fortune or celebrity fame.
This poem must explain,
“While reading these words, know this is true:
To me, No prize is more beautiful than you.”

An Unexpected (C)

On the page lies ink,  (a)
And beauty to see;   (b)
Standing on the brink,  (a)
Of this verbal sea.  (b)

The movements in the water,  (a)
Are unnoticeable to untrained eye.  (b)
Yet, each wave`s crest will falter, (a)
Underneath the clear blue sky.  (b)

Just like the ocean current,  (a)
It begins to slowly rearrange;  (b)
Meter and form, change,  (b)
Without evidence of a dent.  (b)

While optic vessels sail along  (a)
This humble bard`s song,  (a)
The destination once projected  (b)
Is no longer what was expected.  (b)
Instantaneously appears a sea  (c)
Where (a) (c) shouldn`t (b)  (c)

A Poetic Tincture

Once again combining paper and pen,
Daily mixing of the two -
In the hopes to
Use the gifts that were given;

To express the daily subtle beauty,
Seen within rhyme-
Seen within line-
The concealed sacred simplicity;

Is revealed most evident – implicitly.
With few miscalculations,
To this poetic calcination;
Ancients used fire, moderns – electricity.

Every single ingredient of the mixture
Is emotionally purest;
Must be the best,
To ensure a productive descriptive picture.

The cars pass gracefully by.
Pedestrians prance, some will glance.
Cyclists dance as they advance.
These sights are perceived in an eye.

The bluish-gray sky above,
Mirrors the concrete below.
A constantly new show!
The conclusion? None know.
The cool breeze is love.

Still alchemists toil away,
Hoping their potions,
And heartfelt devotions;
Will cause someone afflicted
Blinded, optically restricted,
To see the beauty of today.

Hope

I stood on a rock, fear filled my eye
In the distance a storm brewed in the sky
I stood on a rock, which would not fall
Despite the torrential downpour of the squall
I stood on a rock, which was ever strong
The immortal storm, in a blink was gone
Darkness engulfed my frail mind
Only the unknown, is all I could find
I stood on a rock, near a distant shore
My spirit started to rock, addicted for more
More answers, more peace, more sleep
Less cancer, and less sorrow-filled weeps
I stood on rock, which comforted me
Lightning in the darkness, all I used to see
I stood on a rock, out at sea
The sky so blue, birds flying free.

An Apple

An under-developed apple; in simple rhyme born, hurt and scorn fallen, and landed on earth
Birth
Seasons ate away, at once recognizable form; until darkness claimed it`s berth
Death
Through decomposition, a re-composition of old composition, poetic core found new worth
Growth

Three, three, three
The mental imagery, that comes with this symmetry
Reveals that which created the new apple, to shine so happily

The darkness and light
Are both part of life, and both give insight
Words reveal what is pure, true, and right

The seeds of the Big Apple, and around this spherical tree
Home to all humanity, all seeds are free
To be critical, or just being happy as can be!

Warm Embrace

Two hearts beating
A blissful sigh
A look from eye
To loving eye

A warm embrace
Hand gently moving,
From gorgeous face;
Soft beautiful hair, so soothing
In a bed of love, a scared place
Two lovers share
This warm embrace

Forever spent in moments
In each other’s arms
An afternoon in reality
The memory lives forever on

A World Created

A world created
Within a mind
The brown ground
Is a series of words laid down
There are green noun trees
And mountains of paragraphs
A blue sky of ideas
Not yet written
A deep blue sea
Filled with waves of creativity

Ever-growing Further Knowing

As we grow up, from seed to tree
And our nerves change
From soft Jello
To cold steel, we find where we need to be

We learn to conceal
What we need not reveal

Our minds disguise
What truly lies inside
Not showing what's true
Only a false image, through and through

And we create lies
That become truth
And where our self image,
A glorious tree, takes root.

Nutty Advice

A squirrel awoke in a gorgeous green tree
The early dark blue morning
Was a sight for squarely eyes to see

He ran down the brown bark
He was searching for food
With all his heart
The perfect breakfast, the perfect start

Some acorns that had fallen
From his home the tree
Provide a good meal
To keep our friend, squirrel, healthy

A start of a peaceful day
Content and full
What more could a poet say?
But
"This is the best way to start the day :)"

Skyrim

Watching the battle on screen
Wishing that someday - to be
Deep in this land of fantasy
Living among the wood and tree
To be wild and free
"O how that would be
The ultimate joy - truly
Wild and free, yet not nearly
Instead of a slave to concrete and technology"

Defeat

The feeling of being outnumbered
At that time - a feeling you shouldn't feel

Nothing quite so calm
Nothing quite so true
Nothing quite so real

At that moment - look inside
As defeat
You meet
One thing needed to survive

Through and through
Coursing and flowing
Evident and showing
There's nothing more amazing than knowing
That through it all
You stood your ground, battered, but still standing tall.

Inside

What could the world live without
That wasn't there before
What new creation will thrive and sprout
Something they'd adore

All that seems to matter
Is that you sell
To get that batter
For a comfy furnished cell

If you are honest
To what's inside of you -
To yourself you`ll be true
But also be poor too.

Almost Empty

Embracing the time alone
A chance to create a poem
That describes an empty home

Empty as the blank space
On the page – words erase
The façade they deface

No sounds from within
Except for thoughts that swim
Around a mind, they swirl and spin

Every room is hollow
Ceiling above, floor below
Dust on trinkets builds up, slow

Dirty clothes strewn everywhere
Tossed about, without any care
Silence and an empty stare

Within a poets lost glare
A glimmer of despair
Even when there appears nothing there
Painful – forgotten – memories fill the air.
