So comfortable to lay on
With soft sheet of crimson red
Comforting you till awake is gone
It's frame is made of
Solid chestnut oak
With a mattress as soft as a infants love Whispering almost
incoherently, it spoke
"Drift away with me
Into another land
A place where you're free
And inner voice, is your private band."
"As bards once found
Their nightly rest
Under stars shining profound
With only music in their breasts
Rhythm's comforting sound"
"Dreamland a land of sleep
Realities and troubles slowly leap
Away, and never cause you to weep."
"Dreamland is where visions unknown
Do not exist, for it is very well known
That this is the land, where dreams are sewn."
"Dreamland is a sight to see, a scene;
But don't take my advice, rest on me
And travel to this land most rapidly!
A land so clean, and totally serene!"
"This passage lies...
Behind your eyes
Close them tight
So devoid of light
And I'll give you sight"
Upon this advice,
I didn't think twice;
Of to somewhere nice,
From reality my mind did splice.
Sleep found on the bed,
And visions filled my head;
Of every fear and each dread,
Arriving at, a nightmare instead!
